Ramona & Mihai – Civil Ceremony In Focșani
I met Ramona and Mihai for an hour, the time needed to document their small wedding in Focsani that they celebrated that winter. Their sophistication took me back into a classic movie; everything was different. The civil wedding ceremony took place at the Registry Office in Focsani in the building where the population register is made and not the theatre as they usually do. There wasn’t anybody else, just us and their closest relatives so we all could quietly witness the ceremony without being rushed by other bridal couples.
The photo shoot took place in Balcescu Park, near the Intim restaurant. It was something simple and of good taste, with a lot of substance as all the weddings in Focsani should be. I was impressed by the outfits chosen by the bridal couple; it was like I was in another corner of the world, not in Focsani. This is my first photo gallery on the website; there will be more to come, of course. Time will tell where my stories will take me, in Focsani, Bucharest or maybe other countries. The new project in English of the website aims to help me photograph weddings in other places, countries where the Romanian language would become a communication barrier. To see what I am referring to, you will notice at the bottom of the page two text lines, respectively Romanian and English. To access the Romanian version of the wedding gallery, click on Romana. Enjoy!
