Diana & Silviu: mountain wedding at Padina Ursului, Fundata.
I documented this wedding 6 years ago, in 2016. I’m late publishing this story, but i knew that sooner or later this moment will arrive. Now that the pandemic seems almost over and the 2021- 2022 wedding season looks very promising, my attention it’s once again towards wedding photography. This is not your typical Romanian wedding because of the 1360 meter height where it took place and the fine people that gathered together for this special day. This is an adventure wedding that I relive now when I’m arranging this images in a precise order.
On the mountains at 1360 altitude.
Silviu takes his daughter Olivia outside early in the morning for a quiet walk and fresh air. So, the images from the start of this gallery reflects his wonderful routine. Situated at 1360 meters, Fundata is the highest town in Romania. Wherever you look you will find mountain peaks, traditional settlements and alpine pastures. Always in search for adventure Diana and Silviu has chosen to unite their destiny in the middle of the mountains at half the distance from Bran and Rucăr. The religious ceremony took place at the town’s old church. A particularity of this church is the fact that is under conservation and only holds religious ceremonies twice a year.
When I plan the wedding day, usually I take into consideration the unknown. In this case knowing the couple from other weddings I knew what to expect. It was a small gathering next to family and close friends. For this reason it was a wedding for my liking. Without courtesy smiles and guests that the bride and groom never saw in their entire life. One more thing to add is the wedding party, it was memorable.
