A Small And Emotional Celebration Of Marriage

This was the last wedding of my rather busy 2021 wedding season. Before heading to Soveja, a small and forgotten village in the Vrancea County, I only talked to Alexandra twice on the phone. Other than the location, the date and the day timeline I didn’t know anything. Needless to say apart from the feeling that they were a young couple, their faces were still a mystery. Even if this sounds like a paradox or unprofessional, this is the way I like to go to a wedding. Somehow I feel that the unknown surrounding a wedding motivates my creativity and awareness. I’m a grown man that has witnessed over the years over and over the act of two humans getting married. I’ll be frank with you, because of the repetitive and somehow predictability nowadays I rarely get overwhelmed by what’s happening in front of my camera. Well, you already know where I’m going if you had the patience of reading this or at least read the heading. Their wedding celebration was a carousel of emotions with an intensity that I never had the chance to witness before.

Wedding Timeline

Don´t search on the internet for another wedding at Casa Thymus Soveja because this is the one and only. It was refreshing to shoot a wedding in a totally different environment. The couple chose this rural chic mountain getaway as their marriage celebration because of the hospitality, size and proximity to nature. The civil ceremony was officiated in Focșani at the Mayor Gheorghe Pastia theatre and the religious act was held at the military church in the same city. Their big day was accompanied by a small group of close friends and family who fully lived their big day.
